Stranded (Song 7 of 10)

Rock Of Pain (Stranded)

The hall is quiet and the rooms are cold
Some days I can hear your voice suddenly call
A faint fire blows out in my heart’s jagged hole
When you left me, left me stranded
On a hard rock of pain

I’ve been stranded on a rock of pain
Ain’t nobody hear to hear me scream
But the gulls of guilt and the stormy rain
I been left out to hang, stranded on this rock
Stranded here while everybody sane mocks
Stranded like a fool, on this rock of pain

All alone with nothing to gain
All by myself on this rock of pain
Emotional black hole, sanity’s back lane
Blue cornflowers all dried up and dead
Shattered soul, pain in my head

Can you see me? I think you can
Pieces of myself- stranded on this rock
When you left- you left me stranded
Stranded on this rock- rock of pain
Ground against the grain, rock of pain

I’ve been stranded on this rock of pain
Ain’t nobody hear to hear me scream
I been left out to hang, stranded on this rock
Stranded here while everybody sane mocks
Stranded like a fool, on this rock of pain
