I saw a photograph of my friend and her mum
Going off on holiday together over the weekend
They look like sisters
It tugged my heart's whiskers
(Yes my heart has whiskers, not strings)
They say a picture is worth a thousand words
But I have always believed
That the pen is mightier than the sword
Words have such immeasurable might and influence
A picture could mean a million zillion things
But words, ohh, words...they have the capacity
To shoot directly into your heart
And vibrate the strings of your soul
Mum.
I miss your voice.
